Dr. Varun Khanna — Consultant in Delhi NCR

Dr. Varun Khanna is a Consultant in the Ortho-Spine Department at Artemis Hospital in Delhi NCR, with more than 15 years of experience across spine surgery and orthopedics.

His list covers degenerative, deformity and trauma work. He performs discectomy and laminectomy, spinal fusion surgery, disc replacement surgery and endoscopic spine surgery, along with vertebroplasty and kyphoplasty. Cervical spine surgery, cervical spondylosis and degenerative spinal stenosis are on his list, as are spinal deformity correction, spinal tumour surgery and spinal trauma surgery.

He read MBBS at Medical College, Kolkata, and took his MS in orthopaedics at Government Medical College, Amritsar, followed by the DNB in orthopaedics and the FNB in spine surgery at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in New Delhi. He also holds FIJR as a Fellow of the Indian Journal of Rheumatology and MNAMS as a Member of the National Academy of Medical Sciences. His AO Spine International Fellowship in endoscopic and minimally invasive spine surgery was taken at Schön Klinik in Munich.

His published work is concentrated on the cervical spine. He has written on equations for cervical lordosis and T1 slope in young adults in the Journal of Korean Society of Spine Surgery in 2022, on clinico-radiological risk factors associated with inability to achieve MCID in cervical spondylotic myelopathy in the Asian Spine Journal in 2023, and on the influence of preoperative sagittal alignment on functional recovery in the same condition in the Asian Journal of Neurosurgery. He also contributed a chapter on operating theatre illumination to the ASSI Operation Theatre Manual for Spine Surgery.
