Dr. Hitesh Garg — Head of Spine Surgery Department in Delhi NCR

Dr. Hitesh Garg is Head of the Spine Surgery Department at Artemis Hospital in Delhi NCR, with more than 20 years of experience in spine surgery.

His list covers degenerative, deformity and revision work: cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine surgery, spinal fusion surgery and disc replacement surgery, spinal deformity correction, spinal stenosis surgery, spinal tumor and trauma surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, treatment of spondylolisthesis, and revision surgery for failed back surgery.

He read MBBS and took his MS in orthopaedics at SMS Medical College in Jaipur. Four fellowships follow, in four countries: spine surgery at Christian Medical College Vellore, spine surgery at a university hospital in Germany, an AO Spine fellowship at a hospital in South Korea, and a fellowship at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia. He also holds an Advanced Management Program in Healthcare from the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad and IIM Indore.

His awards are largely for innovation and for his standing in the specialty. The Delhi Orthopaedic Association named him Best Innovative Member in 2017, and he has received the Mercy India Golden Merit Award as Best Spine Surgeon of the Year in 2019, the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre award for Best Young Indian Spine Surgeon, and the Fernström Trusted Healthcare Award for best spine surgeon in Gurgaon in 2023. He was a Dr. BC Roy Award nominee and was selected nationally across 12 conferences and 48 CME publications for the Indian Young Inventor Award.

He also holds a best paper award at ISSICON and an AO Spine fellowship award for 2016–17, and has published over 40 articles and textbook chapters on cervical disc replacement, motion preservation and spinal deformity surgery.
