Dr. P. Rajendra Kumar Jain — Director in Hyderabad

Dr. P. Rajendra Kumar Jain is Director, Head of Department and Consultant Cardiologist at KIMS Hospitals, Secunderabad, Hyderabad, with more than 42 years of experience.

His list runs from diagnosis to structural intervention. He performs coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty and stenting, diagnostic cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, pacemaker implantation, TAVI or TAVR and the MitraClip procedure, and he manages coronary artery disease, valvular and rheumatic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

His degrees were taken at Kurnool Medical College, the M.B.B.S. between 1981 and 1986 and the M.D. in internal medicine between 1987 and 1991, followed by the D.M. in cardiology at Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad between 1993 and 1995. His overseas training came in three parts: an observership in echocardiography at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York in late 1996, an observership in the catheterization laboratory at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York into early 1997, and an interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris between 1998 and 1999. He was elected FACC in 2009 and was Consultant Cardiologist at the Mahavir Cardiovascular Centre between 1999 and 2004.

Clinical trials work brought two awards for the CREATE study, presented by Dr. Salim Yusuf at meetings in Goa in 2003 and Bangkok in 2004. He received both the Best Reviewers Award and the Readers Choice Award of the Indian Heart Journal in 2016, and was best outgoing medical resident at Kurnool Medical College in 1991.
