Dr. Kiran Peddi — Senior Consultant in Hyderabad

Dr. Kiran Peddi is a Senior Consultant at Yashoda Hospitals, Somajiguda, in Hyderabad, with more than 30 years of experience in gastroenterology and hepatobiliary medicine.

Inflammatory bowel disease is the part of his practice with its own fellowship behind it. He manages IBD including Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and performs ERCP. On the liver he manages liver cirrhosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, autoimmune liver diseases, refractory ascites and chronic hepatitis B and C, and he also treats chronic pancreatitis and severe gastroesophageal reflux disease.

He read MBBS at Kakatiya Medical College in 1996 and took the rest of his qualifications abroad. He passed the MRCP in the UK in 2000, completed his CCT in gastroenterology and general internal medicine in 2008, and was elected FRCP of London in 2017. His fellowship in advanced endoscopy and IBD was taken in Australia, and it accounts for the two strongest strands of his present list.

His hospital record spans three countries. In the UK he was at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport and at the Manchester Royal, Hope and Blackburn hospitals, and in Australia at Fremantle Hospital in Western Australia. In India he has been at Global Hospitals in Lakdikapul, Medicity Hospital and Citizens Specialty Hospital in Nalagandla, Telangana, alongside his present post at Yashoda Hospitals in Somajiguda.

He is a member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology, the Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India and the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation, the last of which matches the IBD half of his fellowship. He was named a Rising Star in Gastroenterology for the Telugu States by the Times of India in 2017.
