Dr. Amanjeet Singh — Senior Director & Head in Delhi NCR

Dr. Amanjeet Singh is Senior Director and Head of the Division of GI Surgery, GI Oncology and Bariatric Surgery at Medanta - The Medicity in Delhi NCR, with more than 30 years of experience. His profile records surgical gastroenterology, HPB and transplant work alongside general surgery.

His list falls into two halves. On the colorectal side he performs colorectal cancer surgery, colorectal resection, total mesorectal excision, abdominoperineal resection and low anterior resection. On the bariatric side he performs gastric sleeve surgery, minimally invasive bariatric surgery and robotic bariatric surgery, which together account for the third arm of his departmental title.

His qualifications run from MBBS through an M.S. in general surgery and a D.N.B. in surgical gastroenterology to MNAMS. His later training is a sequence of overseas courses in exactly the techniques he uses: a fellowship in laparoscopic colorectal surgery at SMC Korea, robotic training at IRCAD in Strasbourg in 2011, laparoscopic gastric surgery training at IRCAD in Taiwan in 2012, and robotic colorectal training at AETF in Japan in 2013.

His awards begin with the Ravi K Jerath Award as best DNB student of the year at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and continue with recognition as Best Colorectal Surgeon in India in 2017 and a Primetime Global Excellence Healthcare Award. His profile also credits him with the Medanta Handport Technique, presented at the annual conference of the American Society of Colorectal Surgeons in Florida.
